[ She's done a bit of research, so she knows most of the important figures in the city even if she hasn't met them. ]

Ah. [ Honestly really stressful with Brigid avoiding her. ] The shelter is doing well. Is the Shaded Lantern still, ah... busy? [ Brothels were a little more sultry than Sonja was admittedly used to. ]

As ever, thank you. This isn't the type of profession to ever go out of style. I'm pleased to hear the shelter recovered well from the storms; it's an important service you all offer there.

Is there anything the shelter is in shortage of still? I'd like to see it succeed in the long term.

Thank you, although I can't take very much credit. I just do the books. And even then that's only what Brigid lets me. She's not very good at delegating.

We were really lucky since the Storm didn't hit us very hard. Nothing comes to mind, but thank you very much for offering.

[Rosyn watches the illumination Sonja thinks she's stumbled on reach her eyes with impassivity, her expression entirely unchanging.]

I understand you have a particular talent in the field of critical and strategic planning?

I- yes. I was a commanding officer of my countries combined military forces back home, although there isn't much call for those skills here. [ She adds hastily after a pause- ] Fortunately, I mean.

That's quite an impressive accomplishment for a young lady such as yourself.

[ He chuckles a bit at her clarification. ]

Yes, let's hope it remains that way. I wonder if I might ask, what sort of training did you receive for that?

I went overseas and to attend an military school, Redstone Academy, although that was really just the formal aspect. I grew up around military officers and war meetings since my father is the Emperor.

That must have been intimidating when you were younger.

What is it you do here in Keeliai?

On the contrary, I always found it fascinating, and the generals of my country have never been anything but unfailingly polite. They are more of an extended family, really.

In Keeliai... I'm not sure if it could be said I 'do' anything. I work a little at the Shelter. I tried to bring something of my own culture during the new years, but I think that I might have made more people angry than anything.

And have you been able to establish that sort of social support here in Keeliai? It's important to have those we can both rely on, and provide for.

Something something 'throwing a party in the middle of a disaster' etc etc.

[ Maybe that didn't sound like she was very respectful of the view, but the fairly split perception was actually hitting her really hard, and it was all she could do to make light of it to avoid crashing into depression. ]

I've made... some friends?

[ Valdis was always busy and never talked to her about anything important. Bakura was... maybe he tolerated her? Who knows. Pepper was nice! Tony and Gene would definitely wave back at her if she waved at them. Brigid hated her.

The fact that this was going way better than last time she was here really said something, didn't it? ]

Hm. I'd think since it was clear there wasn't done with ill intent, people should take that into consideration. But logic isn't always people's default, is it?
